Vehicles are divided into classes according to the type of vehicle and the total speaker cone area of both subwoofers and voice speakers combined. Two-door coupes and sedans representing one type of vehicle and trucks/SUVs/Vans/Wagons/Hybrids representing the other. Depending on the vehicle type, the vehicle is then assigned a class based on the total speaker cone area of both subwoofers and voice speakers combined, i.e., Lightweight Division 0-1000 sq. inches, Middleweight Division 1001-2000 sq. inches, Heavyweight Division 2001-3000 sq. inches or Extreme Division 3000+ square inches. The owner of the vehicle competing is the only individual allowed to be inside the vehicle or to otherwise operate the vehicle during the competition. A competitor is not allowed to play the same song or musical selection in any subsequent round. Competitors are allowed to select whether they wish to compete in 3 rounds based on overall sound, or, 3 individualized rounds (First round –bass; Second round – Highs; Third Round Overall sound), or, 5 Rounds (First round – bass; Second round – Highs; Third, Fourth and Fifth – Overall Sound). Vehicles are allowed to remain running throughout the competition. No sound meters, of any type, are utilized during the competition.
